Facilitates individuals striving to express their talents and commitments as fully as possible, bringing forth the character within each of us who has the ability to choose a new path. We might call it our will, our inner leader, our guide or our executive. In industry where Jim has spent his career, good executives are called on to break corporate habits, take the bet on new technology or markets, make the call, restructure, and inspire the population of managers and workers to abandon some or much of what they know how to do and set off on an uncertain, unfolding course, with not much certitude. So it is in ourselves. The Executive within must be capable of managing the inner call to a new direction, rewrite self history to include the new direction, direct the unlearning and learning and redesign from an idea or urge through possibility into achievement.
We engage people in helping to make tomorrow by design, not default. As wayfinders, we help organizations and communities to imagine the power and promise of this new paradigm, and to design processes and tools that enable them to shape and live it into being. We do this by bringing people together through a collaborative design process that reveals, draws forth, and connect resources, talents, and skills helping communities develop their unique creative capacities, resilience and evolvability.

In the broadest sense, my interest is creating environments that develop the precursors necessary to build products and services, and then designing products and services so that they regenerate these precursors in society. In this way, the cycle - the economy - can function elegantly and support what we, as humans, value in our lives. This approach is highly relevant to evaluating the impact of investment and grantmaking, creating innovation environments, ensuring corporate social responsibility programs are strategic assets, developing sustainability efforts, etc.
Student of Life, Global Knowmad, Challenger of Convention, and Creativity Enthusiast. Those are the words that most accurately describe me, a 20-year-old girl trying to make sense of our world and how I fit into it. After growing up living in various countries and working in the world of philanthropy and social entrepreneurship, I am at the moment primarily involved in creating change and inspiring others to have a voice in crafting their own learning and life paths. My vehicle to do this is The Eduventurist Project, which I am working on while taking my own time away from college and formal schooling. I am also currently the editor of the first San Francsico Bay Area edition of the Community Lover's Guide to the Universe, a project I learned about while traveling solo in Europe for 4 months this year. Additional fun facts about me: I have a strong interest in design and how it can be applied to solving social and environmental problems, the notion of community is something I continually aspire to explore and learn about, I love to dance, and I am passionately obsessed with tea.
